I'd make sure it had been maintained properly, obviously. See how long it's been since a major service. If it hasn't had a clutch ($1,500), I'd count on replacing it sometime soon. I'd have a dealer inspect it, especially the ABS control unit (if it has ABS), pivot bearings in the final drive, wheel play, throttle cables, battery, rear transmission mounts for cracking, etc. If it's got the original shocks, figure on spending $1,000-1,700.
