Hey guys, I just went through this on the weekend. I mounted 17" RUF speedlines on my 1985 European Issue .
Tires are Michelins, 235X45 Fronts and 285X40 Rears.
Rears were a piece of cake, just removed the factory spacer and fit was perfect, just need long wheel nuts.
Fronts were a totally different story. I had to remove all of the A/C gear under drivers fender, and shave the back of the chin spoiler on both sides to get adequate clearance. Even now, I will rub the washer bottle on full lockout left.
The story is about to change again this week when I mount a big red kit. Fronts look to fit fairly easily, in fact I may end up with the wheels about 1/8th further inside the fender which will be fine. It looks like I'll have to machine the factory spacer for the rear down to 5/8ths or so to keep the rears under the fenders.
ANyone that has ideas on how to make all of this easier, please don't be shy to fire away....
