2 times the symtoms were the car would barely run and backfire really bad. The first time it happened the motor just quit. I called the towing co. and it started up. That time it was hard to diagnose cause it was intermitent. I checked everything twice including the cranksensor.

Again if it were me, I would replace it with a Ford unit if your ECU will work with one. The Ford sensor is even cheaper than the ****ty (that was *****ty) one. It is also cheaper that a tow or imagine if it fails in front of a loaded semi.
