It's not completely the crank sensor's fault on the Clewett/electromotive set up. Its actually a combination of two things. I bet each one of you who had the problem used BOTH the crank sensor and 60-1 crank trigger wheel. The sensor has a narrow band of operation. The trigger wheel is narrow, and it wobbles slightly under certain conditions. When this happens, the ECU looses it's place (can't find the missing 2 teeth) in the cycle and shuts down. You can fix this by using a different sensor or a more robust (thicker) trigger wheel.

Having owned the TEC3r, I used the closed loop system in a very narrow window - less than 0 manifold pressure and less than 4000 rpm. In other words, easy cruise and idle. And, it really doesn't work well at idle. You can set the parameters in the software. If you are unsure how to set these parameters, do not use it.

The other features line over-boost and rev-limiter worked fine.

There are definitely better choices than the TEC3r for an air cooled, highly modified, turbo motor.
