Actually, I am positive the headers/H/E are different for '78&9. I believe they went to the same exhaust layout for the later '86-'89.

I've always heard that 90% of the power difference between US and RoW comes from the exhaust - at least for the '78-9 cars.

Also, my US car had no cat (has fed. exemption sticker) and I don't believe it came with an air pump.
