Lower Line of Red Block - 150*C
Upper Line of Red "Block" - 170*C
After looking at Akila's gauge, I realized that my gauge shows the red area a bit higher. Although my car is a 78 with the temp gauge covered with white face plates, would my gauge at the horizontal or 9 o'clock position be the same as the middle line (219*F)? About a year ago, I checked the temperature of the oil at the oil tank with a thermometer and it showed about 200*F while the temp gauge was at the 9 o clock position but of course that does not show what the actual temp is in the motor.

Did the markings change as the years progressed? I may be running hotter than I thought.
