Unless the local codes require footers you don't need them. Mine sits on a 3" thick slab. I did install concrete anchors and bolt it down. I could slide the empty lift around pretty easy. Living in earthquake country I also added a diagonal strap on the long side and installed plates (like the end plates) on the inside of the drive on ramps at the wheel locations so the car can't slide off the side. I also notched the inside of the drive on ramps so I could drop the engine.
