It is really unfortunate that the wheel/tire market has gotten so goofy with the sizes. It's hard to see where it will all end. Folks with older cars are just screwed.

The new wheels do look nice but many are now 19" diameter. 18" is likely the breaking point on our older cars but can look OK with the right wheels/tires/ride height. 19s generally look cartoonish on an older car nomatter what you do. At that point you cannot get a tire with a low enough side wall hieght to keep the total diameter of the wheel/tire within reason. It has to adversely affect handling at some point.
