I increased the size of the throttlebody on my project based on a measured pressure drop across the butterfly of 1.25 PSI at 10 PSI (no intercooler at the time).

I looked at it from the standpoint of thermal load... If you remove the restriction, then the turbo will not have to work as hard to get the boost charge into the intake manifold, thereby reducing back pressure on the turbine. Gains are small and obscure, but are more prevelent as the air volume being moved increases with higher boost levels. Note that items like intercoolers are also restrictive, probably more so than the throttlebody.

I don't know about the extrude honed intake. Ask someone with a flowbench who build porsche racing equipment.
