If you were after a true vintage look, you'd be running small rims, too. I was at the Sunday morning Calabasas gathering a couple weeks ago. It's a little bit interesting to see some 80's era Ferrari...on 14 inch rims with large aspect ratio tires. Looks tiny (almost cartoony), by modern standards. Though maybe it's today's 22-inch chromed 3-piece spinner rims with encircling black rubber band tires that looks cartoony.

For those of you who have upgraded with wider tires/wheels: how have the handling dynamics changed? Does your car stick better, but to the detriment of road feel or spriteliness of handling? Or is it all positive (except for the financial aspect), with no negatives? On one hand, it's nice to have more "stick." At the same time, at least for street use, I have enough trouble driving at semi-legal limits. The last thing I need are higher cornering speeds.
