Not sure about the rest of the radio nomenclature, but ARI stands for Automatic Radio Information. It was a European deal in the 80's where radio stations could broadcast traffic information on a separate signal and 'break in' to your normal listening enjoyment. There was a seperate volume adjustment on my '84 Blaupunkt Aspen, which had this feature, so you wouldn't miss the info if you had the volume turned down on the radio.

Just trying to help out the cause! It sure is the ultimate 911 and a dream car for most of us.
