Turbo Conversion Goes South!! Broken Studs

Finally after collecting all the parts needed to do my 3.0SC turbo conversion I got slapped in the face this morning with the worse possible problem...Broken Head studs

I removed the right side lower valve cover and 3 large objects fell into my oil pan, yep it was 3 broken off head stud ends and washers. I then moved over to the driver side valve cover and 2 more head stud ends fell into the pan

So now my 3 week turbo convertion project will turn into a 6~12 month engine rebuild, or if a come accross a 3.3 long block and pistons for the right price I might go that route.

Anyone out there got any good recomendations? I have herd of putting 3.3 P&C's with a 3.0L block with some small modifications but guess I really need to start reading the Porsche bible "How To Rebuild and Modify Porsche Engines "
