The helper spring should have no influence on clamping force. If properly installed, the helper spring (omega spring) does nothing when the clutch is engaged due to its on-center position. Be sure lever and pedal are returning completely and there is clearance between the two arms at the adjustment bolt on the tranny end. The short arm should have no pressure on in when the clutch is engaged.
