To be honest with you Alan ,If your close to stock with the aluminum plate you might be ok. My engines probably in the 450 range and I went with the aluminum plate and once I got the cable dialed in it hasnt slipped. If you go with that setup Im pretty sure your gonna need the spacer also. Yeah I agree they will kill you in the wallet,but take your time and compare prices. The cheapest for the fitchell and sachs was Zims 299.00$ which was a deal, check them out. I made a list and pretty much put 3 columns for 3 different suppliers and just got the parts from who ever was cheapest. Fix all your oil leaks while its all on the ground too. Good Luck!
