Dare I bring this thread back to the original topic ... I'm always up for free pizza, but turbo'ing an early S without significant internal mods would make for a very finicky and short-lived engine for several reasons:
- I think the compression on those engines is more like 9.8:1. It's bad enough getting them to not detonate on pump gas without a turbo ...
- those early mag crankcases are just waiting to fail when you modify the engine in any substantial way
- tuning mechanical fuel injection is a bit of a hassle even when the engine is normally aspirated. With a turbo it would be ugly.
- The cam profiles on the early S motors in particular were pretty hot profiles with lots of overlap. I am thinking that they wouldn't work too well in a turbo motor.

Still, it would be fun, wouldn't it?
