Carrera tensioner are the ones that were oil fed... typically used as an update on the 930 and older 911s when getting a service or doing a build.

The standard 930 tensioner is not a hydraulic oil fed unit.. it is good... but supposedly oil fed carrara tensioner are better as they are pressurized. I have seen some of those fail also, though not as many, and not with as disastrous results.

Of course with the standard 930 tensioner you can always add the locks to keep them from completely compressing if they fail.
