I agree with Goran given that you currently have a 930 tranny.
I've ran a 915 behind my modded 930 engine for about 5 years. No way would I even consider using a 7:31 R&P.
At this moment I am rebuilding an '84 Euro Carrera 915 with higher gears because the SC 915 gears are too low. The 7:31 915 with LSD has great value. The 7:31 is weaker than the 8:31 so more likely to break. Sell it and use the money to put an 8:39 in your 930 tranny if you want/need lower gears.
