I will try to get to it is 1:55 A.M. here and gotta go to bed. Didn't forget you.
Hey I am posting some pix of my disassembled should only have a small thin steel washer under the spring ends where they meet the cast housing cover. Looks like someone shimmed mine with a wheel bearing seal or can see it on the right in the pix
Otherwise maybe the spring was shimmed inside to increase the boost?
Do you have pix of the guts of the wastegate that you disassembled so we can see what was in there?

1979 930 Turbo....3.4L, 7.5to1 comp, SC cams, full bay intercooler, Rarlyl8 headers, Garret GTX turbo, 36mm ported intakes, Innovate Auxbox/LM-1, custom Manually Adjustable wastegate housing (0.8-1.1bar),--running 0.95 bar max
