I see what ya mean. I looked over the PET diagrams and it doesn't show it.

You need that whole setup because there is a ball bearing used as a flow restricter in that fitting. Otherwise you'll feed full oil flow to the Turbo bearings and blow oil past the seals. Ask me how I know this! The diagram doesn't show that either. You may want to call Pelican to help out with this.
