The adverse actions of EtOH on the CIS are compounded if your car is not a daily driver.
As stated above, EtOH likes water and is prone to accelerate rusting and gumming which is better tolerated in EFI systems than the precisely machined spaces of a CIS fuel head. It is also more corrosive than toluene based fuels.
I drive my car sporadicly. It may get driven every day for a week and then sit for 2 weeks. Sitting gives the water/EtOH a chance to surface react.
