My Porsches have all had 915s and topped out at ~140mph. I took them there often.
The safe speed envelope is ever increasing as auto technology advances. It is the stupidity envelope you gotta watch out for.
Agree with you totally. Driver fatigue, lack of concentration and plain bad driving are the REAL contributors to accidents.
Unfortunately in this country there is an obsession with speeding vehicles. "speed kills" is the catch cry that governments have rammed down the throat to everyone for so long, I'm afraid that the brain washing is having an effect.
Whenever there is an accident, speed is blamed. No mention of the poor road conditions, the drug induced idiot or the overtaking 3 cars around a blind corner scenario. No, the answer to every accident is either install a fixed speed camera or reduce the allowable speed limit.
Trouble is, the laws are designed for the lowest common denominator.
