930 Engine Rebuild

I recently did a complete overhaul of my 1980 911SC using Mr. Dempsey's book, and it worked out very well. I am now about to tackle a 1986 930 that has, at the very least some bent valves, and more than likely some piston/cylinder/case damage.
My question is, other than the turbo plumbing etc., are there enough similarities in the 3.3 Turbo motor that I could use the book again for this overhaul ?

Second, in the worst case scenario, if the crankcase is damaged, what cores would work in this motor?

Thanks

Steve
