Actually, what people like to do with the 3.0 is slip in 3.2 pistons/cylinders like the 3.2 carrera. This gives you the same approximate grunt of the 3.3 if you adjust the compression to 7.5 to 1 or so. I believe it is a direct fit pretty much.
And the short stroke crank will scream to redline with a ferocity that these 3.3 just don't have with the longer crank.
The g-50 gearing will absolutely burn your tires up (in a good way).
I have a 3.0 with a lightweight valve train and I can spin my tires with ease at 70 mph when shifting to 3rd gear.
Keeping your short crank makes your engine unique with the 3.2 pistons. A guy named Pete did it around here and he loves it.
