930 engine produces max power at 5500 RPM. After that, it's producing gradually more noise and less power. Old mech limiters could vary their cutout limits and I wouldn't rely on them. Original rod bolts are same stuff as on 3.2 Carrera and survive longer on 930's just beacuse owners don't rev as much as Carrera's. They are still weak link. 3.0's will fare little better beacuse of shorter stroke and lower piston speeds.

So:

Don't do above 6000. 6000+ is uncharted teritory and if your stock limiter is malfunctioning or replaced with non-limiting one or your bolts got wrung to 6800 RPM one time too many you might be hearing very expensive noises.
