Enlighten me - what is, or where is the accumulator?
It's the device next to and behind the fuel filter, above the longitudinal on the drivers side in the engine compartment.
It has a spring loaded diaphram inside that holds fuel pressure for a day or so after you shut the car off.

It helps during cold starts and smooths out the main system fuel pressure while running.
