A VERY VERY thin layer of 574 was smeared on the gaskets. I used ThreeBond 1104 to seal my crank case. I think John Walker uses a copper coat on his chain cover gaskets. And another shop I know uses Curil-T. And yes, I've heard about Gunnar's use of hylomar. When I get ready to do them, that's probably what I'll try. Right now, it's just a tincy bit damp, the oil hasn't dropped on the headers yet...but it's only a matter of time.
