+1 on a light coat of Curil T for the chain cover gaskets. Works great.

The fast idle just before shutdown allows the turbo sump pump to scavenge most of the oil in the turbocharger's sump tank. It prevent's the tank from overfilling at idle cool down and backing up into the turbo seals.

The rings do rotate during operation. The Porsche 993 engines, chasing reduced emissions, have a little protrusion in the ring land of the piston to prevent rotation. Pretty cool idea. I think. I suppose you might get uneven wear in the cylinders because of this, but the Nikasils have such a damn hard surface, I could live with that!
