There are many things you can do to help the 915 live in a high torque environment. The most important being don't beat on it. No drag racing and no wheel hop.
WEVO makes a nice bearing retainer that gives reinforcement, a late model side plate cover will help as well as an LDS. A trans oil cooler is manditory if you plan to track it in a warm climate.
My personal rule of thump is to not exceed 350 ft/lb of torque. Any more than that and you can litterally destroy the tranny at will.
