Torque is the real stress on the transmission, more so than horsepower. High horsepower through high revs and low torque can be used with much less work than high torque. High horsepower would mainly be the cooling issue and making sure oil is getting where it needs to be. Torque needs reinforcements like steel bearing retainers.

What kind of torque curve/numbers do you expect or plan on?
