While I understand the want to experience Italian lust, I can't agree with the particular scenario you pose.

If you had said F355 we'd be having a dialogue. Granted they're much more dinero. But, they drive _FABULOUSLY_ and sound even better - def. something every car nut should experience... I highly recommend it 8-).

I'm just not a fan of the 348tb/s's... too Testicleroaster wannabe with the side strakes, they're overly dominating on such a small car. And the performance... you'll be left wanting coming out of a 930. Sure, the sound is great and they handle amazingly, but they lack torque - again - esp. coming out of a 930. You'll get your straked doors blown off by new Altima's. As noted the driving position is quintessential EYETALIAN - not good. And the major services are mind numbing.

Here's a thought - sell the '78 and find a 308GTB or a Mondial Spider (don't ask - I've always liked them even though they're not performers - topless 4 seat mid engined Italian fun), or possibly a 328 (starting to stretch). They all can be had relatively 'affordably'. I didn't want to like the 328 until I drove it, it's a hoot.

The Italian should compliment your 930 not replace - unless you do it "right" (355 / 550).

Heh, and Flieger's diatribe I found quite funny! That's hilarious on the Fcar owner syndrome. Too much...

So, I say stretch and go F355, or stretch less and swap the '78 for Mondial or 308. And those noting the current 930 market about to go up make a great point.

Drive a bunch, report back. That may get it out of your system enough just in itself - it has for me - the best Italian car is SOMEONE ELSE'S! heh heh heh...

ps... mmmm... Lindsey's... arghaaghghagaghagaghahahaaa...
