No bandwagon here

I save the bandwagon for ice hockey, old_skul. It's the Canadian way...

When the 911 was first introduced, why was it picked on by 356 owners? Certainly not because Porsche was trying to get its share of the massive rear engine sports car market, was it? This is different. Porsche is making a late attempt at jumping into the SUV/COV market--to get its share of a massive product category that already exists. There's nothing new or "fresh" about the Cayenne.

I'm a fan of 356s, 911s, 964s, 993s, 996s, Boxsters, 928s, and 968s. I haven't driven all the models, but there's something uniquely Porsche about each one. I'm not just picking on the Cayenne's appearance either. To me, it's sloppy seconds in an already crowded market, and I think Porsche is making a mistake. Granted, the mistake may not immediately show up on Porsche's balance sheets, but the company seems to be losing its focus and diluting its image.
