Well, the engineering side of me been thinking.... so pressure <> volume.

But... the volume between the compressor wheel thru the intercooler then TB then cylinders is static. Now, to produce pressure, valves have to be closed while the turbo is still supply more air.

So, with a bigger turbo that produces more CFM, given the amount of time that it can fill the cylinder, it will fill more air (volume); hence more power. And this also explains why cam profile affects power (amount of time one has to fill the cylinder) & it has to match the turbo.

Is this the correct thinking?
