I always erect scaffolding and hoist the engine back up with a chain type lever hoist.

The scaffolding I make is two A frames with a bar from the top of one A to the other. A's are one each side of the car.

I'm sure there are better ways but I had the lever hoist and only had to buy one extra length of scaffold tube...

1983 UK 911 3.2 Carrera Sport Coupe. Black, Black Leather with Red Piping, Black Alloy Gear Knob, K&N Air Filter Element, Turbo Tie rods.
Needs Fitting - K&N CO Sensor, Round A/F Dial Gauge, Factory Short Shift Kit.
