I live in SE Pennsylvania, and my car has 40 IDF's. They have chokes (Actually what Weber calls, an enrichment circuit, another path that provides additional fuel, it doesn't block the air flow like a choke system) They are cable operated, and would require a bellcrank setup to get them to actuate together. Routing a cable up to the dash would be a real PITA, so I've never hooked them up. I've thought about a solenoid actuation, but never followed up on that either. I just let the pump operate a few seconds to ensure the float bowls are full, hit the accelerator pump a couple of times, and it will fire right off. Takes a bit of pumping and fiddling on really cold (low to mid 20's) mornings but not really unreasonable.
