The answer to your question takes some consideration.
You have to know exactly what your goals are, what your driving style is, what the intended use for the car is, budget considerations, resale considerations, and the general attachment you have for your car.

It is simple to say if you want a 930 buy one. Problem is the 930 is NOTHING like a Carrera. If you like short tight courses and roads like I do the 930 is about the worst thing to drive. That is where the 915 shines true. The 930 4spd likes to stretch it's legs on the highway.

Just know going in that most mods done to any car are a wash when it comes time to sell. You can sell your nice Carrera and buy a mildly modded 930 for about even money right now.

Spend some seat time in a 930 and the answer will come to you, probably quickly.
