Original Slant 505 option cars have, for 2 years now gone for over $70K @ Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale ( look up the sale results on their site ). More recently one got over $80 at auction. The one Brian has is a dealer installed SN, using ordered parts for conversion, not a factory one. There are probably more of these than the factory cars as lots of Porsche dealers ( AND TUNERS) did this as when the owners finally got their new US 86 Turbo after waiting many years they then found a long waiting line for the newly introduced 1987 505 optioned cars so they had theirs converted to SN. Sometimes by companies that used both factory parts and other than factory parts. Even Craig Jackson, many years ago, offered a conversion Package and advertised on his converted cars license plate as "U want 1". Some conversions were other than the factory metal panels ( least desireable ). Many were converted due to body damage so be careful as it was sometimes cheaper to buy aftermarket parts for the repair. Also on the oil cooler location, the area where the regular 930 oil cooler resides, is taken over by the retractable headlights, horns and stuff. The Werkes 1 prior to 505 were in the front valance and the US 505 cars the cooler was relocated to the rear duct area. Ordering a Kardex from PCNA ( 770-290-3500 ) should determine what options a Porsche was built with.
