Yes, a common effect of passing a lot of power through the rotor when switching to an MSD ignition.
Dig the remains of the resistor out, scrape the remaining copper contacts at each end of the rotor shiny clean, solder in a piece of solid 12awg wire (common wire size used in residential house wiring), and re-epoxy.
