Good thought Mark. Thanks. The problem occurs without the gauges hooked up too - had it when I got the car a year ago. But it is hopelessly worse at the moment. So, maybe the lines have something to do with it. I am using the same type of line as the early CIS units had - that plastic type fuel line.
Am going to try and bleed the whole system. Think I could get rid of any air above the piston by pushing airplate down while fuel head union cracked off.
If I can't improve things, will remove gauges and see if better.
While engine not running,and just measuring pressures, system is stable.
Seems like a lack of airplate damping.
