What did your gauge read when last drove the car?

What I am saying is, after an oil change- lets say the oil was topped off nicely as described above, and the motor is warm- your gauge will read at or above the level position (9 o'clock position). You can add more oil, and drive it normally. After putting some miles on the car, lets say maybe around 2000 miles, your gauge will read lower, say to the 9 0'clock position again. How much do you drive it? Like to drive it spirited (see p.s.below )? You are using your gauge, right?

When I drive my '87 NA (I like to drive it a lot, and sometimes spirited) I know, based on many, many oil changes, it is better for me to keep it more in the fuller range(warm), and not have to ever see zero on the dipstick.

Regards,

p.s nice internals you got there. Nice build description.
