It might be this or the cold air.
I think 930Rocket and RSRMike hit the real salient points. You go with a free-flowing aftermarket header, and your boost characteristics change. Add cold dense air, and suddenly you're overboostiing beyond what you normally experienced. Without an accurate boost gauge, you don't really know if the overboost kill switch activated because of out-of-control 1.3+ boost, or just because the connections were loose. Either way, it's conforting to know that your overboost fuel cutout circuit works as intended!
You may want to drop down to a .8 bar spring and add a boost controller to get the .9 or 1.0 that you desire.
