I'm running 245/45-17 and 315/35-17 BFG G-Force T/A TDK 0n 9&11.5x17 Kodiaks.
Both front and rear measure 25 3/4" tall.
A reduction of the front tire to 245/40-17 would drop the diameter a full 1" which would give me an additional 1/2" gap in the front fender well. I would need to lower the car 1/2" to compensate which is why I asked if that affects suspension geometry. (For a street car that is not so important but information is a good thing).

315/35-17 = 12.4 x 25.7

275/40-17 = 10.8 x 25.7
245/45-17 = 9.6 x 25.7
235/45-17 = 9.25 x 25.3
255/40-17 = 10.0 x 25.0
245/40-17 = 9.6 x 24.7

I'm considering going with 235/45-17 for the diameter but would like to see a picture of 245/40-17s and 315/35-17s.
