Thank you for your replies.
I have pulled the scanvenge pump and it appears to be in perfect condition. It also keeps up when tested.

The k-29 was recently rebuilt but we did not start looking at restrictors until the smoke started. I've pulled the turbo and am sending back to the rebuilder for inspection. I'm hoping that this is the problem.

If it were valve seals or guides, wouldn't it smoke all the time?
