Some 930 tuners toss the bracket when installing a non-stock turbo rather than take the effort to do the job right. Time, heat cycles, weight and vibration strains the entire system. Porsche didn't put that bracket there for looks.

If you cannot use a bracket, for whatever reason, then a really secure muffer strap will help.
Could this be one of the reason aftermarket headers seem so prone to cracking?
