Ahhh yes, cater to your market. If you were to look at the other European makers during that era, Mercedes, BMW etc.. they were suffering the same issue.

Besides the emissions and crash testing regulations mandated by the US Gov't, the US consumers wanted, pwr windows, leather, sunroofs and a/c. If you look at the euro versions of these cars during this same era you'll find none of this. This being the largest market, they got what they wanted! If you've ever owned a euro spec 911, and some 930s from 75 through 83 you'll find that most had cloth interior, many had roll-up windows and not s/r.

930s were the early evolution of what they now call "luxury sports cars." For me it's either a luxury car or a sports car.. I look at 930s as sports cars that just happen to have leather!
