I too wonder why the 930 isn't more sought after in the Porsche world. I read the "Market Reports" in Excellence and they say that the 911 Turbos have a small but loyal following and folks that like them usually LOVE them. The flipside is that most Porschephiles DON'T like the Turbos. I have no idea why.

The only reasons I can see that folks wouldn't like the Turbo, (IE, these are reasons I've actually heard):

1. The Four-Speed transmission
2. The driving characteristics, (not torquey down low, have to rev it, then when you do, BAM! Lightswitch Power.)
3. Fear of "stereotyped" higher maintenance costs.

I can't see why anyone WOULDN'T wanna own a Turbo. I broke my Porsche Cherry on a 930, and only afterward drove a Carrera. I was less than impressed. The 930 was everything the 911 was, and that much more.

And I know I'm in the minority here, but I actually LIKE my "luxo-barge" 930 with all the trimmings.
