Anyone ever had their clutch pedal snap in two?

Was in the middle of an awesome drive yesterday, when clutch pedal went to floor.
I carry a spare clutch cable for just such an emergency, but when i pulled on the clutch pedal, it came off and if found this under the floorboard

I know my clutch is stiff, but jeez, the car only had 80,000 and while i drive it hard, i dont abuse the clutch or anything. Would worn bushings resulting in off-angle forces with each clutch pedal motion cause this? Anyone else ever have this happen? If i get another stock pedal, will this happen again?

Also, is the clutch pedal/ cluster for 930's the same as for 911's? The pelican website seems to have parts specifically categorized for either, the 911, 911 and 930, or 930 alone, and there is no pedal or cluster rod for the 930. Thanks
