That is the correct size tap for cleanin out threads however you would be best not using a brand new tap in my opinion and use a older worn tap or even grind a couple slots/grooves up the length of a new bolt and screw in, half turning it back every full turn or so to clean out crap inside the thread.(old trick used to do in my toolmaking days after heat treating steel) Using new tap it is very easy to also cut into thread in soft material of the cylinder heads and oversize making the stud not so tight in thread.
