My '88 Carrera 3.2 had to be towed home a couple of days ago

. A mechanic passing by the stalled car agreed that it seems to be a fuel starvation problem. Symptoms were it turned over but would not run despite having spark. Removed line from fuel filter and turned over but no fuel pumped. Of course it did start the next day but stalled while driving and will not start again. I have replaced the DME relay but no joy. One thread on this forum suggested giving the pump a wee tap with a rubber mallet but to save my life I can't figure out where the pump is located. Can someone tell me where the pump is located and maybe where to tickle it? Thanks in advance.
