Hmmm, the life of the turbo? I'm not sure I know what that would be. My first one died because the air injector tubes disintegrated in the exhaust chambers and ended up in the turbine blades. I don't do WOT, 1.0 bar runs very often, I use Mobil-1 20-50 synthetic oil, my oil pressure is very high, and there is no evidence of coking in the turbo oil drain or in the oil filter when I cut it open.

It does get hot faster and stay hot even when the boost is 0. The only downside I can see is that instead of scaly, flaky rust on the outside of the hot section, mine has granular, tiny rust crystals on the outside of the turbine housing. But hey, the hot side is cast iron and pretty thick. Has anyone seen one of these K27 turbos rust through the hot side?
