The heat exchanger bipass pipes are at least a step in the right direction. It would be relatively easy to encase those bipass pipes to give you a little heat back.

A viable alternative is to replace the early restrictive system with the Euro system Rocket pictured. That will give you an instant 35hp and allow the entire system to perform better. These can be had for a few hundred dollars so a great bang for the buck.
